Its parked in lower NY where the temps are in the teens and 20s. Antigelled the fuel at the fuel station. Locked all doors, brakes, and even my trailer. I plan on doing a really good pretrip when I come back. Anything in specific I might have an issue with? (Brakes freezing, etc)?
Supposed to get up in the 40s when I come back. I'm such a rookie lol. Thanks guys.
Parked my truck for home time for the first time, what are some things I should look

Don't be like me and forget to turn off the battery-disconnect switch.

If brakes were wet when set they could possibly freeze, however that's usually remedied easily. Especially if the Temps warm up.
Short of checking on it everyday to make sure everything secure , maybe even starting it each day. Shouldn't be an issue. -
Remove all of your electronics and other valuables and take them with you. Leave the charging cords visible inside the truck unless you need them.
stryker5673 and Ditch Doctor Thank this. -
Oh balls lol. I better go back and do that.

Don't leave truck with full tanks...unless you have all that anti-siphon stuff.

I like to start mine once a day when the temps get below 15. run it for about 45-60 min
I am also parinoid about people seeing me leave. i ususlly try and load my stuff into my wifes car (i try to do it low key) i then give her a kiss and act like she is leaving. I them have her drive away or out of the truck stop and go back to my truck. I wait 5 or 10 minutes then i close my curtain (to give the impression someome is sleeping) lock up my truck and walk to wereever she is if the truckstop has 2 entries into the building i will walk in 1 and out the other. Not sure if it works but i like to give the impression i am just running into the truckstop. I dont like people seeeing me just getting into a car and leavingCargoWahgo, randomname, stryker5673 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Do what you gotta do. I have had the good fortune of never working for a company that didn't have a yard in my area. Secure parking for my personal vehicle, their truck is on their property and not my problem when I'm not working, AND most important to me, they can take their time working on it. I'll be at home.
stryker5673 Thanks this. -
Lol, thanks for reassuring me that I'm not crazy! I rarely leave mine at a truck stop but when I do I have a similar routine.
-
That is great I am not crazy LOL.
I can normally leave mine at a shopping plaza with cameras in the lot near my house. With all the snow we have gotten in the northeast this winter I have been temporarily evicted from all of then and have been using truck stops for the last month and a half.
