I had the privilege to use those j hooks for the first time the other day. So much better than the pockets. BUT, if I could I would also like the "coil package" chain spools that come out of the deck. Those come in handy a lot, but are almost worthless on loads wider than about 96".

Mercer gets basic, quality trailers that might not have all the bells and whistles but gets the job done. Costs is a very big factor here. And while you and I would be willing to pay for the convenience of some options, not everyone would. Not to mention it would add considerate time from order placed, to delivered.

Think of it this way, these are entry level trailers that let you get into the flatbed segment of the industry. A starter trailer, for newbies. A small Cost increase can be the difference between success or failure for them. Just like we wouldn't recommend a top end expensive truck to a first time buyer.

Those chain spools tho very nice, don't have anything to do with coils. A " coil package" refers to extra cross members between the frame rails so the trailer can support x pounds within y feet.

Is anyone at the yard? Going to be stopping tonight to do laundry. That's the sign that I have been out way to long this trip.

Nice. I just took a week off at home in WA. Now I'm on a run to my AZ house for a few days on the bike this weekend. Then I plan on making my way to the truck show. So I'm sure my ranking is dropping a bit. Lol. But with 4 of 9 weeks off and most weekends, I'm ok with that.

I cant recall in 4 years ever asking about where I rank, i don't concern my self with that i guess. the wife isn't complaining so i guess i rank ok.

i aint buying nothing, this old utility i got from mercer follows me every where i go, never wanders off. i got it with 33 payments left on her. paid that and got the title, i am gonna run it till it wont go no more. and how are you guys messing up pockets?

and kjpseph, you got to be proactive, do as said give em 20 minutes, then i call the agent , if there is other loads and the yahoo cant give an answer, i tell em to take me off. spyder you gonna get a new trailer too?

    roshea and kjoseph Thank this.

that's why when you see it Advertised they say Coil Package can handle 50,000lbs concentrated in 4' .. never found much use with those pull through chains it was either too far away when i needed it, or not enough to be useful, or under the load
