Omg.... I just got put OOS for a bald trailer tire. The threads are showing ouch $124 bucks of ouch. This blows......... never got a ticket in over 2 years.... of Trucking. Are these trailer tires retreds? It has to be or how could it go from looking ok to showing wire all the way around and across on a super single?
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I would say retread but dont really know. I do know another poly driver told me he had a trailer where the retread came off and he didn't notice right away but another driver got his attention and told him. Still air in the tire just probably looked like what you got a ticket for.Town Drunk Thanks this.

A tire can be retreaded several times as long as the casing is good. The OOS requirements are in the back of the FMCSR under Differences Between the Out of Service Criteria & FMCSA'S Annual Inspection. The OOS on tire tread on a steering axle is 2/32 all other axles are 1/32, or any belt showing. There is a difference between the OOS and the Annual Inspection Criteria.

Well managed to crawl my way back to Henderson this morning and finish up the delivery. Drove the old girl over to the International place where they said she should be good to go in a couple of days. Taking off until Tuesday though as I just don't feel like rolling out again after dealing with the troubles over the last 6 days. Made it roughly 2400 miles on a fully clogged DPF so if you get that blinking stop sign you should have quite a bit of leeway on getting back to a terminal, if you can handle the constant beeping and pulling hills at 12-15 mph
-
Has the beeping in your head stopped yet? Geeze I might go insane listening to that beeping for so long.

i picked up a load the other week an got about 6 hrs down the road and stopped and the inside of a super single on my trailer was worn to nothin, i convinced myself it was already bad when i got loaded but im pretty sure i wouldv noticed it before. heavy load and the roads were really torn up so i thought maybe it was that
-
I made it 200 miles down the road today about 20 miles from my delivery and the parked regen light came on . Did the regen and delivered the load. Now waiting on backhaul.
I dont think ive seen the last of this dpf issue. They wont change the filter and seem to be messing with sensors. -
ive met and talked to quite a few drivers who own these trucks, they dont seem to have as many problems as poly, the one thing they all had in common is that they were open to suggestions, seemed to listen to other drivers, admitted they didnt know it all and werent arrogant close minded nitwits who think its always someone elses fault
-
and run it till it dont run, checkers or wreckers! hahah

I talked to 2 drivers in the break room last night that were also having regen issues. Maybe we're all having issues because our trucks are all around the same mileage. The one guy said they serviced his DPF and he didn't get out of the state before it started causing problems again. The other guy said he has to do parked regens daily, but they're saying it isn't his DPF being clogged but sensor issues as well. There is a rumor that we may be getting a batch of new trucks by years end...but that is a rumor, until I see bright and shiney new trucks sitting in the bobtail lot, I won't believe it.
When I picked up my load this a.m., there wasn't one single trailer on the curb or in the staging area by building 8...they may have to start leasing some trailers if business picks up any more...or else start emptying out some Pol-Tex deliveries.
