As long as he's driving with the flow of traffic, what difference does it make WHICH lane he's driving in? Now if you're driving 10-15 mph below the flow of traffic, you shouldn't be anywhere but the far right lane. Scratch that. If you're driving 10-15 mph below the flow of traffic, you shouldn't be on the road. Take your truck to a road where you can keep up.

OK the way CSA is set up Warnings cannot be DataQ'd which means the driver and carrier is stuck with it. You can DataQ the lane violation but it goes straight back to the guy who wrote the ticket-- guess what, he is not going to second guess himself.

You can still fight it in court and still possibly be found Not Guilty or maybe even a lesser charge. OOIDA is in a big dogfight with FMCSA over CSA where the driver had the ticket overturned in a court of law but where FMCSA still lists a violation.

For now just fight it try to keep it off your MVR.

Trucks run the third lane all the time on 294, I honestly didn't think they cared till you got in the far left.

It's a good thing the DOT officer didn't perform a Level I inspection. He would've found your brakes ineffective.
I see it a lot too. And I have also seen them pulled over for it. [emoji13] [emoji13] [emoji13]

    That's where your wrong.
I was never in the 4th lane.

The officer, in a gold/tan SUV pulled along my left, cut me off, cut off the truck to my right, slowed, flashed his lights, rolled down his window and hand motioned me off road.

Then first thing he says to me is, We've been cracking down, since one of you truckers torpedoed one of us in the third lane.
The 2nd thing he says, "I don't know why your trying to bust my balls"
The third, pull up into the oasis, I'm going to inspect you.
The fourth? License, registration and DOT long form.

Personally, I think he nailed me because the truck is red.
Officers seem to hate red cars, pickups, etc...

What's my lane? The starting gate? The one your not in?
    Yes heard it all.
I don't drive lane 4 on 294. I did up till yesterday occasionally use lane 3 in emergency cases.
F#$% it. Now I exclusively use down town. Let em try and pull me over there.

And from now on, I go apply to carriers without governors and red paint.

Edit: BTW, you know who treats truckers the worst, talks to them the worst?
    Its other truckers.
And that is why this job is so da%&ed lonely.
No one out here likes, wants, cares your here; unless your in their way.

to the op if i was you id get a lawyer and fight it , when i got my jersey left lane ticket it was before all this csa bs and no big deal but anything is a big deal nowadays .
a few years ago i got into one of ohio's little clap traps on the turnpike on the westside of toledo comin into a construction zone 5 mph over the limit and i wasnt watchin my speed ..sure as hell mr. skinhead is pointin me over like im jerry reed and givin me the high hard one .
when all was said and done including the reaming from my safety directer i hired a toledo based attorney over the phone for about 300.00 buks and he basicly said they trade favors around and he could get it down to littering or somthin .
dont remember what he got the charge reduced to ( probably panhandling ) but i had to pay the original speeding fine in full and ticket would never leave wood county and never did .
in the end all anyone wanted was the vig and if ya got the cash it can all be forgotten .
