A "few" trucks were blown over on I-39, but the drivers of all those are "fine". Crest Foods Warehouse in Franklin Grove had the roof torn off, several empty trailers either blown over or across the yard. Don't know if there was any damage at the Petro in Rochelle. Reports put Tornado at around a half mile wide. Saw some pictures of Fairdale, which was hit hardest. Homes leveled and huge trees reduced to bare trunks. Pretty scary. Anyone near the area?

Wow! Joplin was a half mile wide - pretty deadly.

I was at the Pilot in Rochelle. Slept right through it. No damage that I saw. A couple trucks flipped over on I39....

I was 20 miles or so east. Got up around midnight and cranked the landmark jg gear down to stop the truck from rocking so much.

i work at the resturant at the pilot/road ranger in minonk, il just off 39. from what i heard from drivers going south it was getting darker and darker up there. alot of guys stopped for the night and came in the restaurant just to watch the weather which was fine, but it starting to look a little hairy outside definatly got people around town scared since last year that tornado that took out part of washington IL came through minonk and did a decent amount of damage.
ncmickey Thanks this.
