Passed my CDL test yesterday! Sadly, no one was waiting with cupcakes. I am looking to start with a company that runs mostly western US. I have looked at several companies and need to pare it down to a couple of choices. I am looking at Doug Andrus (Idaho Falls), Western Transport (Idaho Falls), James H Clark, Pride Transport, May Trucking, Gordon Trucking and ITS Logistics.
I currently live in SoCal but moving to Boise in a few months. I have been on the forum for a couple of months now. Does anyone have any newer inside info on these companies or similar companies.
Looking OTR, maybe flatbed to start. Andrus will start me at Flatbed.
Ultimately I would like to get a local job in the Boise area but haven't found anything yet.
I did not attend a standard '160 hour' CDL school, so I have had to eliminate a few companies from the pool. TWT, TransSystems and Wil-Trans have a strict requirement about the 160 hour school.
Also, I have a 5+ year old felony (mail fraud) that eliminates a few other companies as well.
Starting the new career!
