It has been really slow the past few weeks at my company in the NE. We a still have quite a bit of freight but not at the levels it was this same time last year.
LTL drivers, how is freight at your company?

I was running my tail off last week at GFS! No shortage of food being delivered that's for sure.

Usually around now it's supposed to pick up...
CenutryClass Thanks this. -
Starting to pick up at R&L

Con-Way is doing well. At my terminal, we hired 2 guys and plan on bringing in a few more.

Did 15 bills today. 7 of those were interline and were dropped off at another local carrier. One pickup. Last week was about the same.

Our company is on the rise. Picked up 5 guys burgers and fries account, set to start deliveries in may. In the last 2 years we went from 130 drivers to roughly 240 or so. Company ordered 50 new trucks and gave out a raise as well. Equipment is all 2013 or newer, majority of trucks have less than 100k on them. the 2015s have the Detroit 12 sp autos, I've grown to like them for city driving and they have a mean jake on those

By comparison, we went from 10 drivers to 8. Instead of a raise we got a 15% pay cut. All of our equipment is 1997 Freightshakers or older. Every truck radio comes standard with a tape deck. Another feature that is unique to us is that you will get a full body workout each day. Almost all the trailer doors are missing half of their rollers and it takes about four times the regular lifting power to get them open.iono12345 Thanks this.
