PrePass is $12/mo and through BestPass it is $17, adding NCPass I think is $5/mo and not worth it to me even though I live in NC. Not enough times hitting scales in NC to make it worth that much. When I got NorPass it covered several more states than it does now, since then several (including KY) switched over to PrePass. NorPass was also only a one time fee of $50, don't know if that is still the case. I have my own EZPass (NJ) and I am going to switch over to BestPass for tolling only. They are based in NY and we will get additional discounts on NY bridges and tolls roads. For those who refuse or are afraid to run the NE then this doesn't matter. Since they are trying to include all the tolled roads we might travel on I think it is a much better value than EZPass alone. I'm not completely sure but I think we also get volume discounts since BestPass is registered as one entity and we are all just users on their account. When a company has hundreds or thousands of toll events per month in certain states they get a discount. None of us could do that on our own. Still need to check in to that but it won't affect my decision to switch to BestPass for tolls.

So does the $300 come out of settlement? Never heard of bestpass into now lol. I'm still waiting on a trailer getting my truck Friday.

no, you need to provide a credit card. As tolls are incurred you will draw down the account and it will automatically be replenished from your credit card. YOU will have the account with BestPass, the folks at Mercer just help you set it up, they have nothing to do with be billing of your tolls. And when I was there last week it was $250 but it may depend on what features you put on the account.

Added note they tack on a 2% surcharge with credit cards will not do this with a bank account and routing number

Maybe you can shed light on this. I know they pay hours after you turn in paperwork. But how does that work? Does it depend on your bank how long into it post?

There's no guarantee how long it will take to process your pay. Get it in as fast as you can though. On Monday your pay may not process as fast, possibly not until Tuesday some time. Some drivers send their paperwork in once a week, over the weekend, resulting in a larger number of requests to process every Monday, plus deliveries that are made over the weekend add to that. Otherwise your pay is processed, or settled, normally within a few hours. If it is processed before 3pm it is in your bank account the following morning. When we talk about "getting paid in hours" generally that means the processing. Optionally you can be paid to your fuel card in which case it would be paid at time of settlement. Funds going to your reserve account are likewise credited immediately upon settlement and available for use.

I haven't started yet going in for orientation on May 4th, so I might be wrong here... I'm assuming the instant pay to get it on the same day would go onto a comdata/fuel card ? Then you can elect to deposit the rest into your bank.. It would make sense because if you need a advance or fuel , you can't wait for your bank to clear cash you need it now...
