I might be a lil over qualified on knives and sharpening
but a few million lbs of codfish later with a ripper and filet knife
and most of those years a nice soft brick and a leather strap worked fine
good fish cutters could only use their knives
back in the day in New Bedford you couldn't filet on the line if you couldn't cut fillets off 2500 lbs of yellow tail flounder in a shift

BTW, I am back on American soil... Have been pretty busy and very tired... STILL... I'm getting old for all this running...

My last walk on the beach in Cabo Frio to give my farewell...

The wind was strong and blowing a lot of fine sand on my face... I wanted to lay down and rest a little but that was pretty annoying....
That guy seemed to be enjoying the wind...

Lots of clouds were coming and going...

Rushed to airport.... Good thing I was 3 hrs early... Well... so I though... Due to the volcano in Chile, plane took off 2 hrs earlier... I had to rush thru check in, customs and no time to buy some snack... But half of the passengers missed the flight and I got two dinner meals instead of one... :yes2557:

Pilot told us that we were flying about 35 thousand feet high, about 550 mph, outside temp was -55F and the flight would take about 9:40 hsr... Good to know... :biggrin_25519:

Here some flight data about 30 mins from landing on American soil...

Arrived at Atlanta Int. airport around 5 am....

Then, had to wait one hr for the shuttle to Chattanoonga, TN... And then took a cab to my "hometime" hotel across from my storage... And THANK GOD they had a room on the first floor for me... :biggrin_25514:

I was extremely exhausted but had a lot to do and a lot to move between hotel and storage...
Spent all Sunday doing stuff... laundry, checking mail, shopping, groceries, cooking, moving stuff...

Called my co. yesterday and spoke with CEO. He told me that "my" truck is still there, waiting for me!! :biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514:
    I AM SOOOO FREAKING HAPPY!!
    :blob7:

I rented a vehicle to take all my things back to company at the end of this week and will load the truck then...
So, when folks arrive on Monday, I'll be in the truck.... :biggrin_25519::Straight road:

When I was a child, growing up in Brasil, I remember those knive sharpener guys, playing their flutes on the street....

they would park their mechanism somewhere on the street and sharpen knives... that has a very distinguished and loud noise... So people could hear from afar and take their knives to them for some sharpening...

Essentially good sharpening is getting a (brain farther) micro edge on one side and then knock it off. Stropping on leather often helps. The bottom of a ceramic coffee cup or the top of an open window has sharpened many a knife.

I had a miserable three day.
As I was waking out to the truck he sent pick up at International Cellulose and drop at Crowley. Followed before I got to the highway by do this first SDV to Air France 8:30 pickup.

The shipping department was only working on Containers.
He sent another SDV to Emirates.
I arrived SDV at 8:30. Didn't leave loaded until 11am
Air France cutoff was 11am but they took it okay at 11:15.
    Then dropped Emirates.
On the way to International Cellulose I had Subway.
Got to Cellulose 1pm and unlike the first time there they were on it and left loaded 1:15.
Sent empty at Crowley at 2pm.
Had I but known I could have been home 3pm.
    Did get home 6pm.
Now about to study the inside of my eyelids.

    Rocks Thanks this.
