Okay, folks, can someone clarify something for me, since I'm not really good at legalese? A friend who just graduated from driving school had an I interview and road test at my company this morning. On her way home, she was rear ended in her POV by another driver who wasn't paying attention. Will this have any effect on her score?

Only a company has a CSA score, not a driver
-
Okay, thanks for the info. Is there anything she should worry about, though?

Both drivers and companies have a csa score........JReding Thanks this. -
Thanks for correcting that... I thought so, but was waiting to see if anyone countered Skate-Boards' response.Last edited: May 1, 2015

No they don't. Been through this a bunch of times. I defy you to show me ANY drivers CSA score. Get a screen shot and post it. I own a trucking company and I assure you only my company has a CSA score and not any drivers.

Drivers don't have csa scores
-
and yet drivers who are professional in name only
never understand the regulations they are governed by -
Was the POV a commerical vehicle?
Was there a roadside inspection report done?
If these are answered in the negative then there would be no impact on CSA.
In regard to driver CSA score I think the confusion comes from an old HazMat BASIC's poster the FMCSA has since scrapped and replaced the wording.Attached Files:

the confusion comes from the way the companies score is calculated. Internally a driver is assigned a score for each violation, and so is the company. Those numbers are merged together in a complicated mathematical way to arrive at a companies base score, which is then ranked against other companies, which gives us the percentile ranking on the safer web.
And there are service companies that say they take that information from the violations, and calculate a drivers score, and companies may also calculated the drivers score internally.
Officially, and legally, the FMSCA is not allowed to keep a separate drivers score to rank drivers against each other at this time.JReding Thanks this.
