not true about inverters. I worked with Roehl and now IC Choice with Schneider. I have a 2015 T680 and they installed the direct-wired inverter at GREEN BAY the day I signed my lease. Plus my truck has a built in Fridge with Freezer so no more cooler on the seat etc..

 

Well I imagine Schneider's rules on inverters could be different if you are a lease-op. My comment was directed at company drivers/trucks, which was the subject being discussed.

 

I'm looking into getting in this field of work : just getting a CDL is not enough, nobody hires you without experience , so the local school thing would probably not work, that's why a deal like "i'll train n then you work for me for a year" is attractive, but you don't wanna get into a horrible arrangement either , they should pay reasonably.

 

lots of places hire from schools. The truck company sponsored training is favoring the company a little too heavy.

 

responding to the "creating value" idea : I'm just beginning to look into this trade , and the industry as a whole doesn't seem to pay nearly as much as it should for the sacrifices involved . they're "devaluing" the trade themselves through that too .

 

I agree they have to portect there investment. Or get your CDL from a independent school.
