To be honest, not yet. I am reading this forum and have seem how the rates have plummeted, and I wonder if it will be a good idea at this time.Last edited: May 20, 2015

Don't get a step deck. I let a "friend" talk me into getting a step deck. Turns out he just wanted less competition for loads.nel4you and vangtransport Thank this.

Rates haven't plummeted any more here than they have at every other trucking company. still very good money to be made, it just takes a little more effort to get it than last year where there was so many good loads they fell in your lap.nel4you Thanks this.

Rates are slowly coming around on the flatbed side! They are definitely not keeping up with the market, but getting there. You will see truckload rates ranging from $1.08-$2.70 for legal loads. It all comes down to how much you are willing to run for, or need to run for, and what lanes you prefer to run in. I won't go to certain areas unless the rate justifies it. I won't take short runs unless the rate justifies it. I will sit until I see a rate that's in line with the market for that particular lane. If you're not a person that pays attention to the market, then you will never have a issue here.WolfHound2/27 and nel4you Thank this.

My first week in the books and I love it.. just FYI all new hires go down to contract relations and have them set your preferred device up the correct way.. Makes things a little easier.. be safe everyone!!!

I think my air cooler broke.. getting lots of air noises after I heard a pop n air release.. shops don't open into 8 was hoping to get to Louisville tonight

Pete, it's easy to check for air leaks in the charged air cooler. Just soak it down with soapy water.(use something with lots of suds, like dawn dish detergent) and look for bubbles. Don't forget the rubber boots connecting it to the turbo and intake manifold.
The pop you heard, you are talking about the air dryer right? That has absolutely nothing to do with the cooler. two different systems. is it leaking after it purged?TruckerPete1990 Thanks this. -
and how many other "friends" on here advised a flatbed, when you were doing the deal? it why I post so much about the magic bullet stepdeck
