So many of you seem to be interested in the small questions, not a whole lot of questions on how to stay safe while driving. I hate to tell you but Truck driving is not a game, if you can remember that, you'll probably be safe. I say probably because accidents can happen that are not your fault.....check out this 15 minute video!
It should remind you that for 11 hours a day you have to remain focused or you may not make it home again.

Hope you watched the video. When you are assigned CBT's (computer based training) in orientation don't skip through anything, they are given to you to learn how to avoid accidents. The rules of the road are
there for a reason, obey them. Don't listen to drivers who tell you otherwise. Be prepared for anything. Taking your eyes off the road can change your life forever. Learn your trade backwards & forwards. It's not about luck. Keep your eyes moving, keep yourself focused. Life & death is literally in your hands.

If you have to ask a forum how to stay safe while driving something went very wrong in your training. The "little things" as you call them are what's left over, the little things that you probably don't even touch on in training. And I also hate red hats, especially when worn with the sticker still on the bill.

When I took orientation at Stevens, our CBL's were done by actual people.
