Dude, youre a better man than me. I would have sat home till those lines came in. My air went out Monday afternoon, I got a short and relatively cheap load to Lexington so I could fix it. It turned out to be a very simple fix, or id be sitting at the yard till it was blowing cold. Back in the day I rarely had working air, but somewhere along the way I got real soft. I need my air, and I need my heat. .

Well we changed everything but the expansion valve because he said if he change it then he'll break the lines getting the old one off and new lines take a week to come in so in hindsight I shortcutted myself by bypassing that step and sure enough once I got about 500 miles up the road it started blowing hot again so I called my buddy and he ordered the lines which kenworth said it won't come in until next Tuesday so I'll be working my way back next week. One thing I'm learning about being a O/O is their are no quick fixes and shortcut now and pay later. Lesson learned. I wanted to stay out for about a month but now I'll be heading home next week.larry2903 Thanks this.

Taylormade407, "Lesson learned." Reminds me of a quote from a friend I knew in
Viet Nam : "In school you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life you're given a test that teaches a lesson." Pay now or pay later - same result. Hope it works out well for you.paul_4lp, TaylorMade407 and larry2903 Thank this. -

I got lucky. Got a hot hot hot load going to ga out of link belt. over 3.50 a mile and under 2k pounds. Booked a load of plastic pipe going up to pa for 2.53. Committed to a load just after five, reloading in the same town and probably the same place considering its also plastic pipe going to wv paying just under 900 on 350 miles. Hope I get it cause it will put me just a short hop from Charleston or Huntington.
