Doubt that Wal-Mart is elevation sensitive. I remember that when I did that run they did not want company trucks taking that US89 and UT89. But if it is then they will re-route and pay the extra miles. I remember a elevation sensitive that I picked up in Nebraska going to San Bernadino. Routed me all the way down to Las Cruces to get I-10 and over. It was medical supplies in plastic bags used for surgery. And getting chips going from the east to the west is always fun and from Idaho down south. That is some out of route routing.

Go ahead and take the 89 ALT. Nowhere does it say no trucks. Nice ride, but will take you 3 times longer than going around. I did once for s×××s
Definitely go to Page then cut over. 89 ALT is no fun. I've done it once before.

Well sitting here in the Denver terminal. Accepted a pplan that had a stop on it for today and final in Eagan on Wednesday. Then when dispatched it all went to heck. Stop now tomorrow and final Thursday. IGH said that they would remove it. Guess what, they did not so stuck with it. All of 3700 miles for 2 weeks pay. I HAVE HAD IT. Just glad that when I purchase fuel yesterday they were having a problem with Comdata so just used cash. At least I will see a check on Friday now. All of 2400 miles.

I don't know if I'm glad that I'm not alone, or if I'm more pi**ed that Swift seems to be pulling the same BS across the board.

This morning I was stacked and confirmed on two loads. One was a 45 mile shag to " help out ".

Stop me if you've heard this one.

Got done with the shortie live unload from the Lancaster terminal. Moved across Dallas to be closer to our evening pickup for Ohio. Two hours later the load is magically canceled with no follow up or explanation.

Now, I know that these things happen. But the last three times that I've "helped out" I've been screwed this way. Like the saying goes, once us an anomaly, twice might be conincidence ... but that third time proves the pattern.

I guess it's time to re-adopt my old airline axiom...

"Failure to plan on their behalf does not constitute an emergency on mine."

I won't be doing anymore "favors" for anyone at Swift.

Ultimately, after much arguing, we got this load from Dallas to Flagstaff where I'll take a 34 at a pool to consider my options if there are any. At least if I put this truck on the o/o market it'll go quick. 2016 t680 10 speed manual.

At the ghetto Truckstop across the highway from the I-20 pilot. At least they have Popeyes here.

Id be curious if it was actually cancelled or not. Id be so curious that I may even call the shipper on the load info I received just to ask if it was still being picked up. If so, There would be problems. Big ones.

What happens is some other lease op in the area is screaming bloody murder about not getting enough miles or maybe a lease op mentor whatever so they will pull a load of one truck to give it to another truck. I recall once rolling 75 miles to a shipper, as soon as I arrived at the gate a msg came thru 'Load Cancelled'. Wouldn't you know as I'm turning out of the lot another Swift driver is coming into the gate.

Had that happen to me a couple of weeks ago in Lathrop. Mine was pulled saying that customer cancelled. Later in the day get a pplan with a stipulation that I have to do a shuttle. The problem was that it was the same load that they cancelled that morning

Here at Bosselmans, Grand Island, NE. Today left the mens room at the Denver terminal and got out to my truck and started up the road. Then realized that I did not have my phone so hurried and messaged my DM and he called Denver. By then it was already gone. Some other driver decided that he needed it more than me so he pocketed it. Now have to find a store that can get this truck in so can purchase a new one.
