Stupid question but when chaining ac units should I run the chain threw the rub rail n hook to ac unit or run threw ac unit n rub rail n hook to chain?
-
i hook it to the chainTruckerPete1990 Thanks this.
-
or you can hook it to a pocket
TruckerPete1990 Thanks this. -
Pete, just ask the shipper how they want you to secure it. They may want chains, they may want straps. Depends on what kind of unit it is.TruckerPete1990 Thanks this.

Well I'm asking cuz another driver was showing me away too with hooking it to the Unit. But it seems safer to hook to chain took me an hour to do 6 chains on 10,000 lbs. Was 3 units 1 big one n 2 small

And never hook your chains to the rub rail or stake pocket unless you enjoy writing checks to aluminum welders. run the chain around a spool and hook it back to itself.
Good things come to those that are patient. After my load cancelled yesterday, I got a bunch of calls on stuff I didn't want, and again early this morning. Two hours later I'm nine 1 on the board and just booked one home for over 2.50 a mile.TruckerPete1990 Thanks this. -
Pocket or chain itself doesn't matter. It's more of a personal preference. Some loads I go through the rub rail and hook it on the pocket or sometimes I hook it back up to the chain itselfTruckerPete1990 Thanks this.
