Thought I was about to get an inspection at Walmart today

    You need a metal valve stem cap.I think that is DOT reg

    While it is a good practise to have metal caps (with internal seal) no such FMCSA regulation exists.

    Weren't they handing out citations for not having valve caps a few blitzes ago?

    Cause a spread out trucks in a walmart parking lot is asking for trouble. Like when u sweep a trailer, it looks like a mess with nails and wood all spread out, but when u sweep all of them in a corner, it looks nice n clean even though it still have the same amount of dirt and crap.

    Another reason I carry a pocket knife, with a tip of one blade you can easily lift up on the valve core and most generally it will seal with just a few tries. Learned that 40+ years ago and it still works today if the valve core is not total junk or full of dirt. Put a little spit on it if you have nothing else, it will tell you if its sealed.
