This day looks good, but what did you do the next day as you could only drive 4.25 hrs if your doing a 2 hr break. the 14 would start at the end of the last 8 hr break
-
I'm not in a rush so taking another 10 hour break.

IMHO the 8-2 splits just aint wroth it hte only way it wroth it is if your going home for a 34 hr and you only a few hours from home.

Sometimes I split to get to a pick up or delivery before closing is helpful. Very rarely do I do them because of the confusion the DOT have interpreting the rules. Ya and the confusion I have recording them.

I run primarily regional and being able to split is crucial at times. I like to run 650-700 in a day but our loads are generally shorter than that so I take my 2 waiting to get loaded or unloaded then an 8 whenever I need. Saves me a couple hours a day by not just wasting the clock in the dock. If you're doing long hauls it's pretty worthless

Sometimes it works out the same way at the end of a 2200 mile drive too, or you need to get to a TA for oil change...

I use an updated e-log app on my android smartphone. When in doubt, punch it in and see if it tells me I have a violation.
As far as the example, it appears legal to me...the trick to splitting on the new HOS is the time on either side of your 8...it can't exceed the 11 or 14.

Would this be a correct/legal way to log the 8 hour split day?
