Depends on the terminal. I'd say Toledo, Niagara and maybe Lordstown you'll defiantly need one or be working on it.
-
Sorry to dig up a dead thread, but you are not required to have a fast pass to work out of Toledo.

i know it's almost 3 years since & i've noticed people don't research before committing, but how's Cassens & the union? i was told they're unfair & sort of bully companies, which is why they make more $
can u link info on United Transports? i tried googling them yet that specific name didn't show up. i wonder if it's that union company i saw atop.. i already know about auto transport being hard, probly the hardest trucking job, but i'd rather do it or flatbed than trailers & not have to sit waiting to be unloaded. also if u have time, view my thread & post if u got advice

thanks in advance -
Anyone know how many guys are retiring out of Cassen's Detroit terminal? I have a job interview with them and Holland next week and am trying to decide where I should go...I've heard all good things about Cassens and don't like holland's work 4 years for 1 year pension requirement but is cassens hiring because they're busy or do they have some people retiring? Any info would be appreciated...

Cassens is hiring in several locations..I have been working at Smyrna , Tn for 1 month ..Nissan is shipping a lot of cars in Smyrna.

i highly recommend researching & knowing what they're apart of 1st. it's been discussed in another Cassen's thread. if u believe in rights then u know what choice to make, but it's a decision u have to make. hopefully u won't go with a selfish decision. there are others who need to make a living

United Transport was a haulaway company back in the day. They got absorbed into Jack Cooper Transport back in the late 80's or so.
What is a "Bully company"? If you are looking for work you are going to run across many things in the trucking industry that you can take to be "unfair". It all depends on a personal view of what is unfair. Having been in trucking most of my life I guess I can walk away with one thing...If you tend to get your feelings hurt easily, then the trucking industry may not be for you. Because trucking as in most of life in general can be unfair at times.
And by the way.
If you work for a union represented company, you work for the company, not the union. The company has a written agreement with the union representing you. They go by their end and the rank and file is supposed to go by their end. You will find that in all actuality, the slackers will hide behind the steward/bus. agent and the real workers will be out doing their job and making money for themselves.skinnytrucker, interpreter and Colorato Thank this. -
Well even if most of this info is old, its still useful.
I go for my first Cassens job interview for Lafayette Indiana here in 2 days and i have been trying to do as much reserch into this as possible.
Ive driven all kinds of rigs over the past 20 years but never a car hauler and im looking forward to it
If i get this job i fully expect to stay with it for the long haul. Ive spent a lot of years putting up with all the BS so none of that is going to bother me here.SLANT6 Thanks this.
