OK, I get it, no hand held wireless devices. Is there a legal and safe alternative such as some kind of headset? Also, I have been using my cell phone as a watch for over a decade. I plan on purchasing a watch so I don't get caught looking at my cell phone while driving to see what time it is. I am looking for specific answer(s) and maybe a specific product recommendation. Thank you in advance for your answers.

Bluetooth headset for cell phone sessions.
Truck radios have a clock that will remain on your preferred time zone, where a cell phone will change to local time and can get you into logging or appointment trouble if you forget to properly account for time changes.
Lot's of options for cell phone headsets and time-keeping/alarms -
I use this for hands-free. Personally think the McDonalds headsets are ridiculous. I keep the earbuds stuck to it and if get a call I just put one in and leave the other out. Has a button to answer calls as well so no need to touch your phone.

Personal favorite feature is the whole "neckset" vibrates if a call comes in. Almost impossible to miss even if your phone is on silent.

You might consider a smartwatch. You can look at the time, make calls, have it read text to you and reply through voice. The newest Samsung watches actually run independently on the 3g network and have nice things like the heart rate monitor and sleep monitor.

I actually bought a small battery powered digital clock I keep velcro'd in my log book holder that is set to my company's time zone. That way I always have the correct log book time. There are also apps (at least on android phones) that turn your screen into a big digital clock like the old 80's style alarm clocks. The one I use is 'night clock'. You can change the brightness just lime you do with the normal screen adjustment.
