That garbage with illinois started after people that worked at the DMV where selling CDL"s for 500 dollars a pop, then a person with a bought CDL ended up killing a family in a mini van, I used to have a missouri CDL and had to retake everything to transfer it to illinois, I just went online and searched for places that will rent you a truck and a trailer just for the CDL test, sure having to retake everything was dumb but I got it done and it was way way cheaper than going to school to retake everything, had my CDL for 3 yrs then had to retake everything just to transfer it to illinois, fun stuff lol

Yes but many truck drivers can be qualified as homeless people! we live in our trucks and we change residence when we move from one relation to another! Many times the state changes!

Federal as state gov considers us as normal people but we are NOT!. Many of us leave friends, kids and often everything we gathered in 4 or 5 years, starting a new life in another state!.... AND WE DO HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH!

It is because we are those people that enable others who have a "stable" life to stay at home and work at home!

We make the backbone of USA economy, but there is no exception for us when it comes to DL oc CDL! STATE WHERE YOU LIVE HAS THE POWER!

Where DO I LIVE? United States of America! I have a 8x8 HOME AND A YARD AS BIG AS THE COUNTRY!

The CFL is federally mandated and regulated. However the federal government has no authority to issue drivers licenses. I don't want to give them that authority either. If you think you have problems now, just let those people get a hold of it and get ready to pay big. It could take months or even years to get one at the cost of thousands of dollars. It's best to leave things as they are, at least you have one and can work. Get a girlfriend in a decent state next time! ;)

looolllll I feel you! and not on the border with another state! that way I minimize the chances that the next one will require a CDL exam ! :p .... Do you realize that? Truck dricers have sometimes to take a driving test when they have a new GF :)))))))) lolooloollllooll! If they want to keep their rights in place!

Never thought about it but I am sure there is a good reason DL are mandated by state! And divide to conquer can be explained even better by keep power divided in order to keep your rights intact!
