So today not to much has actually happened, I woke up, showered, ate breakfast and went to school. The instructor continued to go over the permit test and I studied my In-cab inspection and break check. Which btw at Celadon its a 3 point brake check and not four. While we studied they were calling people up to sign contracts.
Eventually they finally called me up and read over the contract, I'll try to include as much info about it as possible. The tuition for the school is $7,200, they have two options for paying for it. Through a payment plan and of course through a contract. The contract covers 120,000 miles solo or team after you complete your training time, which is done within 10,000 miles. The pay for training is .18 per mile and solo is .27 per mile until you complete your 120,000 miles then your pay will be increased to .33 per mile. At the school you go through ranges to practice maneuvers such as off-set, straight-line back, and parallel parking. These are the only maneuvers you are tested on with the road test. The ranges are 1-3 or 1-4 I'm not completely sure about how many there are yet. After you complete your road test a earn your cdl, you then have to complete what they call the "Celadon safety test" which to my understanding is just you completing your alley dock or 90. You will have 3 Chances to complete this move within 15 minutes if you do not pass in three tries, you will be sent home at your own expense. However, if you are sent home you can return to the school in 90 days and they will pay for your travel (bus, plane, gas, etc.) and you will not have to go fully through the program again.
When I signed my contract, I asked about my criminal history. She told me that they have already ran it and everything checked out so I am officially locked in for the long run (no pun intended) If you have criminal history I recommend this place. Unless you have a recent felony or a violent crime on your record I believe this place might have room for you.
Im at lunch currently and that is more than likely the time that I will be posting my updates. There is also more time left in this day so I will have more to talk about this day, on tomorrow.
