they've got the right mentality... if they keep a driver happy with the right wages and right home time then the company will also make more money by being able to retain drivers and not have to constantly recruit to replace drivers

Just talked to Melissa, she was very helpful, and pretty straightforward answering my few questions. I'll be putting in my app later tonight. Looking forward to run with this company, I love just hitting the open road and driving through several states a day. Currently only run a certain pattern, and almost never deviate from them. Can get very boring after awhile.

Yep.... Looks like this weekend might be a bust..... Wound up with no freight, and had to look for a place to park after I got empty considering the place I delivered at only took an hour to pull it off and I was out the door. Unfortunately I found out the hard way that parking near Allentown PA area SUCKS..... Both the trexlertown, loves further west were packed full, and forget about those two dumps in Bloomsbury NJ, as well as the bandit which is still just as filthy as I remember 18 years ago. Wound up in frystown, had to blindside in the spot but was relieved to find a spot all the same. It's possible I mind wind up deadheading north but I guess I'll see. Can't wait to get home next weekend, was going to stay out until thanksgiving but a couple of things that cropped up at home I have to take care of. Kind of hoping the weather holds out so I can do a "fall foliage" ride before I winterize the bike and put it away for the winter.

I stayed in Bethlehem, pa at the casino. Follow the bus route through the garage and follow all the way back to the steel mill and there are spaces for trucks and buses. Stayed a whole weekend there and won over 500 at the blackjack tables. Beginners luck.

When I came here I talked to Emily some, then mainly to Mike.

Everything has gotten better here. Miles are up, we get bonuses over our usual higher base pay, getting new trucks in (which I would like to get in), trucks come with apu and inverters, ezpass, prepass, pikepass (ok,ks), weight gauges in dash....etc.etc. the one thing I don't like is the on guard. I've spilled coffee a few times and and gets an error and the cruise won't work (which means it's time to stop) like last night when it was raining pretty good and a big truck came over within 75' and the spray caused it to give an error code.

And I saw about 15 trucks today. Never seen that many before. And all going east. I'm glad I'm going west!
I'll stop in the morning at wally world and stock up and hit the Mad Greek in bakers,ca. I love those dang Gyros! And cdl holders get 20% off with a free drink!

Yeah.... I'm not totally stressed about the downtime, there was some told earlier of deadheading me up north to p/u a load, head west then swap to get back to the house. This whole trip coming from Washington have me a full week to drive and managed to sqeeze in service for the truck, take care of a couple of things, and then head out here to deliver it. Its just as well, I found a place to park and managed to get out of the area, and have a night off.

Hey y'all! Just thought I'd pop in and introduce myself and my fiance. We just started driving for GPT Wednesday as a team. So far so good.

@Cornbread King... Bob does road tests.

We picked up a brand new trailer for our first run, so there's another one. That was nice! Wouldn't mind having that one!

Delivered in Londonberry, then picked up in Haverhill and Johnstown heading to Texas. Hope all that rain is gone by Monday when we have to start dropping deliveries.

Now we're doing team trucks? ! First time hearing that. Dreamshadow please keep us posted how that works out.

Made it to Barstow and the clocks ran out on me. 1.5 hours from drop so I'm going to stay here and get in a 34. Only 3 hours left on my 70.
So now I'm watching Fury on the laptop piped through my truck audio.

And the Mad Greek was tasty! Gyros are my weakness. And cheesecake. ...hehe

We are the first team. So I guess we are gonna be watched to see how we do. I'll keep y'all posted. I'm just hoping all that rain isn't around when we get to Texas. We've already ran into some.
