Heres my story....5/15/15 in in only lane of construction zone...some guy passed me on the right closed lane and marked off by barrels, he jerks it left into my lane I miss him by the grace of god but he impacted the concrete center divider...he calls the cops saying I hit him...we all pull over a few miles down the the cops look my truck over not a mark...he says my bad...I called Safey and Mark put it down as,non preventable in case the guy calls in a claim over the next few years...lucky I had a camera showing this jack wads driving skills...fast forward to now I am an owner op I get a call saying Millis put that on my record...I call Dan he actually remembered the incident...within 5 minutes I had a email directly from him saying no damage etc...he never reported to CSA or hireright just it was coded internally as a non preventable....insurance company happy...of coarse nothing on my CDL...just saying

If you absolutely have to start somewhere...and I advise you if your choices are limited to companies like Werner or Millis...start somewhere else...maybe don't start at all... or wait till whatever it is that is holding you back on your record clears up.

They had somewhat of a good reputation for a starter company 10 years ago...the dark cloud of doom and nail in the coffin was the wreck in NY where one of their drivers caused a fatality while watching porn. There were other things, but that is what mainly brought on the dashcam frenzy and premature electronic logs.

A few years ago there was a group of 10 or so drivers on here that ranted and raved about how great millis is, and vehemently defended anyone who said anything contrary...most of those had less than 1 year experience and have either shut up or disappeared.

One of my friends started with them, had this attitude for a while also. 50% of the time he never got home when promised, didn't understand how per diem pay hurts you and that bit him hard too...

Theres a huge gap between Werner and Millis....period. Yes they had the porn accident...if you owned the company and had that type of wreck what would you do to stay in business? Whatever the DOT and insurance company says...

Millis hassling their drivers with spy cams and microphones isn't the way to do it.

There USED to be a huge gap between Werner and Millis...not anymore...

Millis trucks are just as slow, and their drivers are babysat and micromanaged just like Werner. Pay and benefits suck at both companies. Millis you might get home a little more.

    Where is the huge gap?

Landstar used to be right up there with Walmart and Tyson(when Tyson was a good company) they would not hire you if you had anything negative on anything. Now Landstar will hire anybody surprised they did not hire her

I agree 100% Landstar was a royal PIA to get on with years ago......It took me the better part of a month to get qualified with a spotless record..
It would appear they have dropped their standards quite a bit..

Millis tried that with me. I got stuck in the mud and another was rubbing a Millis tractors mirror. Both preventables apparently. FedEx CC laughed at them and pretty much told me that those incidents were petty. But that's when I was starting out.

Now Millis is watching you whether you're moving or not. They are even listening to everything. Luckily I quit before I got a camera. They were so angry that I got my own truck that they tried to strand me in Rockford Illinois.

Luckily I spoke to the shipper and receiver. I was out for3 weeks. They basically threatened them (Millis). Something on the lines of......send him home or get your trailers off of their property.

I've been in my own truck with Millis since Oct and haven't been micro managed once. Also I've gotten home for home time at the date requested or day earlier every time. I've also had over 3000miles all but 2-3 weeks. They've been great to me. If you aren't doing anything wrong then who gives a #### bout the cameras? I honestly forget they are there
