Those years Rangers had a needle that would hit the first 1/10th digit wheel and carve off the left side as it rolled 100,000 and then again to take more off atr 200,000. It's the tell-tale.
Your opinion on my first truck

Speaking of high mileage...
I've owned it for almost a year now. So far all I've put into it is a new timing belt (good for 80,000 miles), 2 new tires and this new alternator. Starts and runs flawlessly. Windows, locks, heat, ac and cruise all work. Used maybe a quart of oil in that year and most of that wound up on the timing belt due to worn camshaft and crankshaft oil seals.
Only non factory modifications I've done is the ventishades and the turn signal DRL system in the last pic.
I love this car.

chris887 Thanks this. -
My father and my older brother have the same Camrys 97 and 99 one at 154k and the other 162k the only problem they had is the oil pump seal that is easily done with the timing belt other than that nothing, but not even close to the mil your car has.

This car came from New Mexico so no corrosion, been well maintained. It's a bit cosmetically challenged but then so am I, lol.
For $1200 on Craigslist, it was a great find. -
For the miles it doesn't look bad at all, is better than having a gold camry lol

There's a little fender bender damage on the left and the clear coat on the hood is all but gone. But I didn't buy it to look good, I needed reliable transportation.

It replaced a 1997 Saturn that was going to need a rebuilt head for starters. And that car only had like 156k.

It's good to look, and ask - you learn a lot.
A 98-03 Cat 3406,6nz , Cummins N14, or Detroit 12.7 in a 750-1.2mill truck for 5-15k is probably what you're looking for.
Keep asking, looking, reading, research.
Good luck.KenX Thanks this.
