I thought about them myself, but I quit on Friday and don't fly out until Sunday and I didn't want to invest that much and have no real transportation. That little bar and grill they have downstairs is a tad pricey as well. Other than that, there was Denny's (which is :puke: or :pottytrain5:) or a Subway, and I get enough of that on the road. Or Rednecks, which isn't my style of entertainment.

Hey Bumper, you work for Palmer? I was offered a gig with them. Any good?

I believe the proper phrase is "worked for them". He turned in his truck and rented a car to get home to SoCal.

If you like working for Prime, you will like working for Palmer. They are identical companies.

They wanted me to contract with them for a year due to the cost of training, being a recent grad.

Yeah that is pretty much common practice but it is usually the company that paid for your training that wants a year commitment.

It's sorta' like getting a new cell phone at the subsidized price. But trucking companies charge a lot more than phone companies for early termination.

It's good practice to respond to vcmail from a guy that was just told he'd be sitting 4.5 days waiting for his load home. Unless , you just don't care if he stays or goes.
It's bad enough your sitting that long , then no one has the decency to even return your call and try blow sunshine up your butt on a rainy day in an attempt to smooth it over for a little.
