I am currently registered for Orientation in Coreapolis PA for Tanker school starting Dec 7 as a new graduate from CDL school. I applied for an Atlanta GA regional tanker position and now that looking at the emails from the recruiter, the job indicated on the paperwork is Bulk in Savannah GA, it doesn't mention getting hazmat or anything like that. I called and asked and the recruiter and was told that is where the Operations manager for the Tanker division is located for the Atlanta area and i will still be working out of Atlanta.
just trying to see if anyone knows about this
    thanks

well the issue is that the job offer for orientation does not indicate any of that and it is in another city. I applied for the Atlanta Regional Tanker Position and the Offer i received by email is for Savannah- Bulk. I was told by recruiter that Savannah is where the Operations Manager for the Bulk/Tanker division is and that is why it is on the job offer as Savannah. the offer doesn't say anything about Hazmat or twic. I am trying to find out if the Savannah- Bulk job in the email is what schneider calls the Atlanta tanker position and what not, read all differences in order to ease concerns by the boss.

You will park in Atlanta but "run out off" Savannah.

I live in Green Bay but "run out of" Sturtevant, 130 miles south.

    BayouBlue Thanks this.

Thanks Gentleroger, That is what I am looking for. Now for tanker, the bulk- Savannah is correct for tanker. I thought that bulk is the Division that the tanker drivers drive for, just want it here in writing. Thanks.

What did the job posting say was required? The one you applied to?

The posting was a tank position that parks in Atlanta . Doesnt matter where the dispatcher is located.

I park 150 miles away from my "office".

    BayouBlue Thanks this.

I talked to Schneider. the position is Atlanta- regional tanker, it parks in Atlanta. the jobs in this region are managed in the Savannah Bulk operation so the position is called Savannah-Bulk in the offer email. the truck is still out of Atlanta. the Tanker, Hazmat and Twic were not on the main email offering the job and it created a slight issue due to difference in location and terminology just wanted someone that is in similar situation to explain. It is believed that these two jobs are not the same and i am trying to prove that they are. I am having to explain this to someone else that is involved in the decision and I wanted it clarified.
    Thanks

I understand that the job description for the Atlanta job has all of that listed, yes,i read it,( once again, thanks again for re-posting what was already in the link that I posted for mickeyrat) and if you had read the post you would realize that the issue was that the email offering the job, which you didn't read and I didn't post here failed to mention those things and the work site was different than Atlanta job posting and it caused confusion at home, which happens from time to time.
first of all, my wife and I use this account. She has been in here doing research diligently. well, this forum has a tendency to insinuate a lower integrity in recruiters or a complete lack of and that has not helped me any or any actually honest recruiters, but she thought instantly that the difference in location (Savannah vs Atlanta) and Department (Bulk Vs Tanker) was a result of a bait and switch scheme on part of the recruiter (that is also something she got from this forum)
so, i am having to do all of this to prove that that isn't a bait and switch and that the job is actually in Atlanta and I only report to Savannah. I wish you were in this division somewhere that was different and hired similarly and you could attest to the different city on the email job offer.
    Well, Thanks anyway.
