I've rolled thru at times and I've been inspected at times. But have never had serious issues. Have always had good equipment etc. way back in the day had paper logs and they just looked over them and said have a good day. Its just a regular scale like ya said

But Banning is the only scale I've ever seen that will have 3-4 trucks lined up in a row to be inspected.

I managed to get past it, by the time I got there I got the green light on prepass and then came up on the sign saying "scales closed". There were trucks backed way up on the ramp.

Lol, yeah I delivered to brewery then picked up, made it into one of the truck stops just in time. I reserved a spot earlier in the day and it turned out to be a blessing, what a cluster getting into these places...

Well, was going to start out bright & early, but that changed when I did my pretrip, went to release the tandems to get a bit more weight on the drives, forgetting to release the air before hitting the button. Turns out it may have been a good thing, got my hand near the valve and discovered air leaking out from where the button sticks out, and quite a bit. So, another bit of sitting before I get it fixed, sure I could've hit the road, but the the fact that another quite imfamous scale house awaits me before running up Grapevine.... Better a little pain now than getting raped over an air leak by CHP.

If you're headed north on I-5 just take Mcbean Parkway exit and hang a right. Follow that all the way down to newhall ranch road and take a left. That will take you back out to the freeway and get you around the scales. I've done it pulling flatbed many times, and with a reefer it's probably not as suspicious looking. Lots of industrial stuff out there.
