Hi guys! long time lurker, first time poster
I just turned 21 (In july) and its been my dream for a couple years to drive trucks. Everything from the sounds to the smells lol. I recently got accepted to Prime's CDL training program, but I do have one question. I do have a birth defect, where I only have 2 fingers on each hand. I can still do everything everyone else can do, and trust me, my grip is probably stonger then most. I really hope this doesnt change anything for me, and can anyone chime in on how this will effect my training, or more specifically my physical.
Thanks for the help guys!

Did you talk to Prime about it? It'd probably be best to get an answer straight from the horse's mouth. Not trying to sound cold, but I honestly don't know. Hopefully someone else can help more. Good luck.

gentleroger, mountaingote and echosid999 Thank this. -
Yeah I talked to the recruiter and he said he wasnt very sure but its shouldnt be a problem. He didnt sound very sure about the answer tho. I honestly don't want to make it to missouri from chicago just to be sent home ya know?
PS- I'm leaving this saturday for prime!

I don't think it's a problem either. I would ask to speak with their medical team before you head out though. They will be performing the physical so they can tell you what you need to know. If the recruiter didn't know, he or she should have found someone who does.

Sounds like you need a spe, I believe it is basicly an additional more in depth road and skills test to make sure you are physically able to operate safely. I am not sure who gives you the test. You may have to work harder but you should be able to do it.FullMetalJacket, AM14 and echosid999 Thank this. -
Workin harder is definitely no problem, been doing it my whole life. I will for sure call them tommorow and ask to speak to there medical team and let them know the situation. I just hope this doesnt mess anything up for me, kinda what I've been wanting to do for a while now. I appreciate your guys input, I've just been freaking out a little bit haha
