I am coming up on six months out of school. I took on a project and did not realize that my CDL certificate had the shelf life of a dairy product!

I was out yesterday picking up an empty trailer to go get loaded. A car pulls up behind me and Kevin Mast, the boss, gets out and comes walking up to my truck and tells me it's drivers appreciation week and he had some stuff for me. A little flashlight tool thing and a certificate for 20 dollars to use for a meal somewhere. He said he was out looking for drivers. He knew me by name when he walked up to the truck. And I've only been here for a month. the fact that the boss was out looking for his drivers to show his appreciation says a lot about this company. I've been here a very short time but I love it here already and I can honestly say that this is the best company I've ever worked for. The only downside for me is that it's not flatbed but everything else more than makes up for that. If you can, come try it here. It's really a great place to work.

My mistake.

 

That's cool that the boss did that. Attention and gratitude go a long way. I talked to them while in school and thinking about calling now that I am done. I don't live close to the terminal, about 1.5 hours south. I'm not sure how much that would effect things. I have been driving a straight truck for the last year for a farm near me and I see Mast trucks all the time. Seem to be in good shape. I was thinking about flatbed as well.

 

Where does Mast run? All 48? Regional? NYC?
