you are one of God's own prototypes rank, all these darn whipper snappers should just listen to you. Clearly you and your posse have all the answers for anything Truck or life related.
Hell you know more about people's lives then they do! who am I to argue with that?
Clearly you came right out of the womb with all the experience needed to be a successful business man.
Now if only we could get you to stop calling people elementary school names and actually provide something of substance...
The irony is not lost on the fact you call yourself a businessman but advocate the very fraud that is part of the reason Trucking is so bad and chocked full of deadbeats.
You want to be an owner operator?! THE TRUTH!

After you've done it a few years you can find your sweet spot for income and taxes. I can run about 110k miles, and if fuel cost, maintenance, etc stay in the same ball park my quarterly payments cover my tax bill. If you go balls to the wall 52 weeks a year you better be prepared to pay your taxes the following year. I figure all in I was off 11 weeks last year, not counting weekends.
Al. Roper and truckthatpassesyouby Thank this. -
Paying taxes can be avoided if you get incorporated and buy a new truck every 5 years but it's expensive. I think a person is better off getting a decent used truck and putting a little back each week. It's hit or miss. I think I made more money as an owner op getting home nearly every day because the outbound freight was the big money. The backhauls paid a lot less. There was better paying back loads but spending all day getting unloaded wasn't my cup of tea. I could get a cheap load of brick and be unloaded in 30 min. Then haul a couple local loads for 3 or 4 hundred. I made lots of money as an owner operator and had fun doing it. I'm a company driver now with a steady 500 mile turn. Home everyday with weekends off. Great benefits at $.6125 cents a mile and several other perks. Think I still made more money as an owner op with more time off but it sure is much easier now and the time off is always paid
