I used to run like that when I worked for Halliburton. If we said we didn't have hours, we wouldn't work for a month. It didn't matter if we had been up woking 4 days straight without a wink of sleep. We were forced to drive on roads in Wyoming that WyDOT had closed because of weather. Ran multiple lot books, and spent more time driving in the ditches than I care to admit. Most trips, the goal was to keep the rig out of oncoming headlights and between the blizzard markers. I'm happy I don't have to deal with that shot anymore. Are there times when I wished I was in paper? Sure I do. Sometimes I'm still good to drive or want to get a little further, but I am no longer forced to run like that.

Got my next load, and the holidays are still slowing things a bit. Pick up tomorrow afternoon near Madison, WI...delivers MONDAY in College Park, GA. It was right at 1700 when I got it, but I still sent a message hitting Joey up for some layover pay for a 200ish mile/day load. All in all, with the switchover to the new payday, I did have a few extra days on this times pay cycle. It puts me over 5000 once I deliver, and 5.5 days to try to add some more, but 2500/wk during the holidays...if I don't get the layover pay this time...I really am not gonna be too whiney about it...maybe a little...but

..I guess the worse news is, there really isn't a Peelot anywhere in that area except the south Atlanta whorehouse on the east side, or way down in Newnan for an extended 34.

Can you get layover for a low mileage day?
-
Nick paid me 2 days last week, and Ashley paid me 1 for loads with too much time.ncmickey Thanks this.

It's not usual for low mileage days... But extra days your sitting .... Like having 4 days for a 2 1/2 day run.... You won't get it every time... But more times than not...
Thanks for that info SSB. My appt is for 1400... I gather they didn't take you early? Is there a place to park if I show up around noon?
I got the light load SSB... I only weight 79,350... Lol... A lot of chugging up hills today... Sitting just west of Lexington KY with 6 1/2 hrs to go tomorrow. Then the tentative plan is a Des Plains to Dickinson ND loading tomorrow afternoon....Ordy19 Thanks this. -
They have a large complex, and a bunch of parking spots for their delivery trucks and carriers with drop trailers. They have a sign saying that they don't allow sleeping on site, but I got there a little after 1300 and they put me in a door, didn't start the unload until after 1500, but they were pretty quick once they got started.Last edited: Dec 31, 2015

SSB you can go down to Fairburn,Ga.I 85 just a little south of the loop. Its been a while since I been there but there's a o k truckstop that has showers and a Huddle House restaurant.I am not sure on exit but I think it's like #62.supersnackbar Thanks this.

that would be the fairburn travel plaza. Exit 61. an okay truckstop, and plenty of food options within walking distance. Last time I stopped there, you had to "register" your truck at the fuel desk... they were tired of locals filling the lot and going home.

Was there last week, register at fuel desk, and don't park in # spots
