The OP kinda has the right idea
... He just needs to learn how to smoooth it out alittle more
... There are ways of jumping in someone's face that are less abrasive -
Who the hell sees trucking as some kind of pinnacle that someone could be a wannabe? Who does this to make money? There are plenty of easier ways to make more money such as I.T., Finance, or Real Estate. But those fields don't interest me, travel is what interests me, and I could never see myself in a position that did not involve travel the majority of the time.
I got in into the trucking business when I was going nowhere working low-skill jobs in the airline industry with a B.S. in Aviation Management. I left the airline industry for a better opportunity that also involved as much travel working for an airline could provide. Trucking fit that racket. My passion happens to be travel and trucking only serves as a means to fulfill that passion. I've self-funded my way to 35 countries, climbed 14,000 ft peaks, rode elephants, and made friends with people across the world. I live to travel and I really don't care what those means are as I never make myself dependent on it. I have three income sources and make most of my yearly money from trading the markets and on the table games in Vegas, but those are very risky endeavors, so trucking serves as the low risk area of my income and as a means to travel.
There are plenty of people in trucking because they are dependent on the income and not because it serves as a tool to do what they love. Many company drivers at megas don't have a grasp on finances and are dependent being in a position they can't stand. I say you should never put yourself in a position where you can't leave in epic fashion and not suffer financial difficulty's. The more hilarious thing is that the Knight port recruiter has even sent me emails about coming back to Knight after all that.Last edited: Dec 17, 2015

So it's not good enough just to leave, you have to leave in "epic fashion". Now I think I understand, your from the "Lord Of The Rings" Harry Potter" "Star Wars" school of thought and planning.

I parked a loaded truck and trailer in a Swift terminal, put in for a leave of absence, along with the truck keys, hailed an Uber to the airport and fly to Asia. Now I'm trying to get rehired with them and they will not even respond to my emails. Crazy thing is I was thinking of applying to Knight in PHX.

Now look....he drives a truck for a hobby to see America.
And makes a lot of money on the side on the market and gambling...
And clears 2500 a week as a l/o!!!!!!!
BS -
Just because you cannot do the same does not mean that it's BS.
Only a super trucker would think that what he/she cannot do in this industry nobody else can do.
So maybe when you get rid of your super trucker mentality you will be as successful as he/she is. -
2500 after taxes. You smoking that good crack rock or nah?

Just telling the truth here. The ones that boast the most.....
Now if he was hauling oversize........ -
I've found that the ones doing that are often overcompensating.
