Hey everyone i have been thinking about going into a one year lease with schneider. I dont have any overhead and i have two years of exp. I know alot of folks say too stay away from a lease. Only reason why im thinking about it is because i want too see if im ready for the next step. I also was wondering if anyone knew how penske INl and paccar work out. Thanks for the advise

Well first im still saving up money for maintenance and other emergency cost. I know that most leasing companies offer a escrow. However ive always said too myself you can never have enough maintenance escrow which doesnt include hotel, tow and tire cost.
I also plan on learning the business more. A friend of mine told me theirs only so much you can learn as a company driver. I really would like too own my own truck and trailer within the years soon if my finances permit.
I know it will be difficult in the first year but i want too see if im ready for the next years too come. Ive been given advice from alot of O/Os that i know personally who have given me tips on managing fuel costs and items or equipment maintenance expense and showing me different write offs on taxes. -

Save enough money. Look at my options in terms of truck equipment. See whats best for me. Buy it if i can afford it. Run loads and make ends meet snd attempt too pay it off.

Can you be more specific.

If you can't honestly answer that question or understand what he is looking for. Then ill be blunt, you need to not be leasing. People fail because the odds are stacked against them on top of not knowing what they are truly getting into or how funds will be dispersed or managed.
The other thing I don't get is why do people ALWAYS seem to think leasing is the NEXT step ? If anything is a totally different direction then the current path for a company driver. It is a whole different ballgame then what you currently deal with.TBonze Thanks this. -
