Just drop the trailer there, and park in a bobtail sized spot, then if it gets towed, it's not your problem...

Apparently you aren't aware of the push by north Carolina to stop parking on ramps, new law passed, you are lucky you didn't get a ticket
-
Ok to set the record straight there were no parking spots open .
How do I know this?
Because I had to use the bathroom and un like most I walked down and used the actual toilet in the bathroom.
So I could see there were no open spots.
To the clown who posted the google earth and knows the rest area so well you should know there isn't any No parking signs there.
Just green poles with white rectangle signs that are blank.
There is absolutely no reason to harass drivers parked well with in the rest area on the side not blocking or impending traffic in any way. -
so it will take you 40 minutes to circle back and park there again. Or just do what the bandit did..... Run.
whoopNride Thanks this. -
There is a lot of misconceptions about rest areas. They were never designed for people to sleep there. In fact some state "no over night parking" They were put there to rest, pee, stretch and keep on rolling. Better planning next time maybe?

Just man up and own it and don't try to put your own poor planning off on the NCHP because they made you move.
You passed 4 truck stops with ample parking not 30 miles before you got to that rest area.passingthru69, BigRedNY and S M D Thank this.
