Thanks for the input, I know Mercer is a flatbed company, but I've noticed an increase in vans around the country. I pull a van now, sometimes very good, sometimes shamefully bad. I don't have a problem going to Canada, used to do it every other week. Biggest reason I inquired about vans is, as you know, they are more economical fuel wise. I've done a lot of step deck work and always liked it as well. Without disclosing exact numbers, can you tell me approximately what you NET a month? Like $3-5k, $6-8k, $9k +
I'm currently netting $5-7k now, but looking for a little more, whether it be van or step deck. -
Everybody Net is different. Gross numbers I can tell you with a flat you could do between $0-$6500 in a week it just all depends on how you runTruckin_Texas91411 and Dakine Thank this.

Pulling a flat, I could easily net 10k+ every month. But I'm lazy and don't like to work more days than I don't.jacquesi23, Truckin_Texas91411 and Dakine Thank this.

Thanks, you've been very helpful in my pursuit of info. I'm just waiting for my phone call from Dawn to set up an orientation date.

Thanks to you too!

I would like to emphasize, that while some guys do really good with a van, they are few and far between, while almost every one does good with a flat.
In other words. Get a flat.
