I'm willing to work hard, but I'm also willing to trade work for free time, as I have a lot of productive things I could be doing with my free time if I'm home.

CRST won't gain anything by hiring drivers that they honestly don't need, other than occasionally keeping one who won't give up and has faith things will get better, or finding one who is good at taking away from other drivers, some of which are also from CRST. I'm not playing either of those games, there's other things I want to achieve in life by which this type of behavior is counter productive. So forgive me for making an issue out of it, I'm not the first and I won't be the last. I'll say this tho in support, this website sees more negative reviews than positive reviews as people doing well don't always think to tell others, but people doing poorly want to share. I'll admit that I'm now one of those losers, but a smart person will tally up the averages, be honest, and make a decision based on what he sees to be true for themself. CRST is a big company, and as such, will not miss you. They'll just sell all of those empty trucks for whatever they can as they are already paid for through their van division. The over head they have isn't excessive, so they have an easy option to downsize, as IF the freight doesn't pick back up, that is what they're going to have to do. However, there are a lot of empty trucks waiting for you if you want to give it a try and see if you can learn the tricks that will make you the same money that their top earners make. Sounds aggressive to me, and that's not what I want for myself spiritually. My needs are simple, as long as I can have even the simplest things I desire. So, if you are hungry enough, and willing to communicate with like minded people to boost your motivation, it sounds like malone might actually be able to help you make the kinds of changes you want in your life for now. However, many things change, and eventually you might have to accept what you don't want, or kill people to have what you do want, because that's the attitude of the environment you are creating for yourselves.

Actually, I did miss figure what I've made a bit. I counted all the negative weeks aND the positive weeks then divided by the number of weeks to get an average. However, the positive weeks always bring the negative weeks to 0. So I needed to count just the positive weeks, and THEN divide by said number of weeks. Yet, this still brings me down to around 700-800 gross weekly. For buying my own truck, I'm still not impressed.

George Carlin has a youtube video "Its a Big Club and You ain't in it" that's where we are for the most part ........ sadly
David Schwarz Thanks this. -
Another update to maintain honesty and integrity on my part. The money that actually ends up in my pocket after recalculate with high accuracy has averaged out to $832/week. After I subtract the deductible receipts I have of things that fall outside of perdeim allowance ($4,500 for tolls, scales, secure equipment, tools, clothes, communication/ electronics, transportation, and entertainment) I'm left with around $500/ week. Once I figure in perdeim for food and hotels, I'm making just a little below 0 yet. I'm not buying things excessively either, mostly what I have I needed and entertainment only accounts for roughly $500. I also owe in fuel tax apparently, and don't have the money for it. I don't know what I will owe, but I can't write it off, so I'd advise people to stay away until the trucking industry has freight again.

Just a heads up here, I'm no longer trying to make CRST Malone look bad. I've had the opportunity to speak with several drivers lately and they have all done well for the most part. Freight is just down and I've heard they've lost a contract or two, but the way that usually works, they just get other contacts. I wouldn't tell people at this point the CRST is BAD, I'd just say that they are in a slump, much like many flatbed carriers right now, because freight is down. Does this mean that there isn't another company doing better? No, there probably IS, but it does mean that leasing may not be the best risk to take at the time that I'm wtiring this. Now, with that said, I've met someone who earned over $20k to the truck with this company before. He's hurting for money now, because he lived as if that was going to keep happening. I just started and have seen a $3k week once already myself, so if things get better then there is definitely potential here, but don't quit your job to try this out until you've watched the industry pick back up. If you want to lease, try to get into the Game when freight is hard to keep up with, so at least you'll be off to a good start, and then live as tho things could get bad. As for now, freight isn't looking good, and you have a lot of people in the middle taking their cuts to satisfy their own life styles. I don't think you want to be a part off that unless your cut is nothing to complain about, which for right now, it is.

Just finished figuring 2015 income, for 12 weeks at Malone. After payroll deductions my total income is 5837.21 or 486.43 weekly average. So this is the most accurate numbers I can give you. They are putting me on a dedicated run so that might help as I'm really just too meek to force freight. I'll update how that goes. After deductions, and without including per deim I'm down to $220/ a week. Luckily for me, I worked on a w2 the first part of the year, so I can write my income down as I'm well below zero now with these new figures. So I'm looking at a decent tax refund, but I'd rather be looking at a decent current income lol. Oh well, my needs are simple. I've included a breakdown of my actual numbers in a photo.
