That's because the rates are bad. Fsc went down and that made the rates tank over .45cpm. But diesel cost only went down about 30cpm. So that's about a 20%+ loss
When diesel went above $4 it took 4-8 months for rates to get back up, diesel went down for less than 2 months so let's tank the rates.Flipflops Thanks this. -
Load to truck ratio is why rates are down.
People are putting too much stock into the whole FSC crap.
There's less loads trucks are competing for.
On DAT for one example Reefer load to truck is down 50% Jan 2015 vs 2016Last edited: Feb 9, 2016

^^ know of an os/od outfit near here trying to hire ME away (sorry no-go) but paying SWEET ... AND you only need a trac, not a trail. They provide ALL the stuff, like you are a lessor . . . it's good $ i've done it before and I LOVE Jenni. Just cant jump ship as to what i've got. (PS: DO nOt put your #### banner upside down, and tell the cops it's a tribute to Dezi . . tried... he wasn't amused but I got by with a warning!)
Stuff like this IS available, and reading the above, it would make sense. It's not Landstar nor Mercer, nor none of the big-guns; but the $ is there. I've hauled for them in my off-tank times, many times. I'm almost kicking myself as to why i'm not going now.....but... yeah.
As to the above posts; I hear SO much how slow it still is this time of year. That's why my 379 sits like a playtoy and I still do company or contract.
Good luck, driver!blairandgretchen Thanks this. -

I suspect that the positive, success stories are over in the broker forum. Just sayin'..

HHG working out of Boston was good last month. This month is sketch so far but heck, it's the off-season. Been doing a lot of preventative maintenance during the down-time. Just got our pup trailer back from the paint-shop, getting it lettered up next week.

$900 on 350 miles.
$600 on 51 miles
$700 on 185 miles
Pull FSC at 100%, rest at 73% - 2 and a half days work - quite a bit of dead head.
I dunno. I guess it's okay.
If I hadn't just booked something and left, I'd still be looking at the load board in the office, and moaning about rates.freightwipper, Flipflops, G13Tomcat and 4 others Thank this.
