Gotta love this post.
Otr there's no money
Regional there's no money
Local there's no money
It's all about the company ur in, not how far u go.
Otr, check out walmart making 80k a year, or tanker guys making Atleast 60k
O/'s o/d guys, u think they running for cheap?
Yes there's mega paying .28 per mile. Or u can just join someone else making .50 per mile.
U think local guys makes the most? Moving guys make 15/hr.
Sysco starting 26.50/hr
So why would u say there's no money in otr or local when clearly didn't do enough research and think .28 per mile is the standard of otr.
Commission company. What's wrong with that? I did pop commission base, work 4 days 3 days off, home everyday and clear 50k a year.
The more work u do, the more pay u make. Same goes with OTR or regional if your cpm. The more miles u do the more money.
How can i get a cdl with no money?

Are you sure sysco starts that high? I heard they start around $21 and go up pretty high from there. But I agree with the rest of your post.
-
That's how much they paid me when I was there
-
Nice. How did you like it there? I'm thinking about applying at their des plaines il location after I get some more experiance.
-
You're mistaken about OTR drivers not making much money. Some that don't shop around carefully do make poverty wages, but others make good money; $55K - $100K. I made $65K running OTR coast to coast @ .36 cpm plus accessorial pays.
You can make good money local with food service companies and some only require a cdl permit to get started.Prof.Gringo Thanks this. -
Is there any training companies that will let me run at the very least regional right out of school?
-
I only said theres no money in OTR, no smaller company will take someone, train them for their CDL, and run them decently, I applied at Pepsi, so there's that, I wouldnt mind running for Sysco, but dont they require an insane amount of experience(like everyone else)?ajohnson Thanks this. -
2yrs is insane experience? Everyone (or close enough) starts at crap wages a few years of running hard and safe and you write your own ticket.

Yup I use to work at that one. Compare to pop, it's much harder. More product and digging thru pallets. Like family Dollar trailers, u open the door and pallets all the way right up to the door.
My route was downtown chicago, the worst of the worst, I meant everybody in sonority pick their routes and the hardest was the last on the table, which was mine of course lol.
Really good money. But rather do otr and make close the same with much less work.ajohnson Thanks this. -
Old dominon has trucking schools in some of their areas in told..get in the door if u can work up from there.yard jocky , sick and they pay well.drivers I know are doing 61 cent a miile too pay.Fed ex freight lol carriers would be good for you .they don't have to beg for drivers just stay in it while doing something else if need be.you won't regret it.hope that helps.
