Drive a log truck, haulin' sticks outta the cascades north of seattle.
Being on top of the mountain at 4am, middle of summer, watching the sun break...priceless. and for the adrenaline junkie, snow covered woods road, 3 railers on the tractor, 3 railers on the trailer, make it to the dirt....priceless!! Great thread! Thanks
What is your favorite thing about driving a truck?

Speaking of blowing the air horn--
This time of year (Spring) is the best time. The baby calves out there butting heads and bucking up and down are just begging for an excuse to run. Blow the air horn and see them take a spread stance, ears going in every direction trying to figure out where that sound came from. Usually one calf will break and run then the others will stampede off with it while the mama cows might pause from grazing for 2 seconds to see what the fuss is about.
One time I saw a group of horses galloping along a hillside, blew the air horn and they swept up full speed up the hillside, looked like something from the movies, beautiful.
Saw some wild burros in the desert yesterday evening, blew the air horn and they skipped along their little trail. -

Its alot easier getting in a truck than getting out of one. You old guys know what I mean. I liked the off road part of it.

That haul was 38 ft logs. Cut to mill specs. We can haul 1/4 the total wheelbase over hang & flagged/lighted if dark. My other logger.
