    #### I must have it pretty good, cause I've never seen much happen anywhere I've stayed. I wasn't too impressed by the Gary TA thou.

My vote for worst truck stop would have to go to the JR's in OKC...But some of my favorites were:
    White T/S Raphine ,Va
Kellys in Greenwood, La(Now a T/A) so it probably sucks
    Bosselmans/Pilot in Big Springs Ne
AmBest I-20 exit 571a in Tx Great food, friendly staff

Spent the night at the TA in greenwood LA, 2 weeks ago. Now the TA up the road, was disgusting. Clean, good food, and had a great time with 3 other truckers harassing the waitress, and manager, until the restaurant closed at midnight.

Whites in Raphine is always good.

Thats one good reason why the law should let drivers carry a gun.

I can tell ya from an experience last night that the T/A and Pilot and 75 Chrome Shops in Wildwood Fl are getting to be extremely dangerous.

I was dozing in my bunk last night at the Pilot truckstop when I heard voices outside. Sounded like murmuring so I just listened a bit, then I heard scratching coming from the front driver compartment and the truck moved a bit. I slowly got out of the bunk without moving the truck and peeked through the crack between the curtains. I saw a coat hanger wire coming between the glass and rubber seal and reaching for my door handle. I reached down and grabbed my gloves and put one on my right hand and THREW OPEN the curtains screaming bloody murder.:smt031

I grabbed the wire and ripped it the rest of the way into the cab before the guy could register that I was there. I think I pulled it fast enough, it cut his hand. He and his friend had this "oh s***" look on their faces and they dropped off the truck. Ran in 2 different directions. I ain't never seen someone run so fast as they did. A bunch of drivers wondered what they were doing so I told them on the cb that they tried breaking in my truck.

I called the local PD and reported this activity to them and their dispatcher said "We'll send someone out IF we get the chance". I could tell by the tone of the reply that there wouldn't be anyone coming. I was like "ummm OK. Dont bother then cuz im moving the truck so save my own life. Thanks for nothing" and hung up:angry5:

At this point, I decided that the pilot and 75 chrome shop, which have linked parking lots, weren't the best place. I started the truck and moved over to the T/A. I had to park near the back in one of the only places left to park there since that &^%& (*^(*%%*% idleAIRE wont let anyone park in their spots anymore.

I went inside and used the restroom and came back out to the truck. I laid back down and wasn't half asleep and I heard voices again. I listened real close this time. The one guy was like "are you sure he didn't come back to his truck?" The other guy said he was sure and to shut up. I heard the scratching at the same time.

This time I didn't even try stealth. I came out of the bunk with my tire thumper, slammed the door open and knocked the one guy down. I jumped onto the top step of my tank and started swinging at the guy who fell down. The other guy ran off. I got the one guy on the ground a good one across the face with the thumper. He left teeth behind before he got away. :smt021 This time a T/A shop guy and IdleAIRE guy saw what happened. They told me to wait there while they called the cops.

I called the cops myself and got the same reply as I did earlier. I sat for 4 hours before a cop finally showed up and said he couldn't do anything about it. I think the local PD have more or less stopped coming by for anything less then murder at these dumps. :angryfire:

I ended up going to the pilot in Belleview to finish out waiting for freight. I'm still sitting here.

I know for sure it wasn't the same 2 guys as the earlier incident cuz the last 2 guys had different hair. not dreadlocked. If you stop in Wildwood, Don't stay or you WILL be robbed

Why you should carry a gun...

although i agree wholeheartedly, sadly, in most states that i know of its illegal to use lethal force to protect personal property, as some of u are probably thinking, " that cant be right, if someone comes into my home..." most states have laws that cover someone breaking into your home while you and your family are present

in my home state of KY u are allowed to use lethal force to protect life and limb, of yourself, your family, and in most cases anyone around u that is at deadly risk. although this has been recently changed to include property in some cases, the new laws are a lil hazy on this issue, and i dont trust that they will be followed by judges, until someone sets some precedent

sadly if u kill someone trying to break into your truck, u may be committing a criminal act(murder). unless you can prove that u were in fear of your life.
that is very difficult to prove as u can ( the justified use of lethal force is different from state to state, i hear that in california that if u punch your burglur he can sue your for injuries, but i suspect this isnt true...i hope it isnt true)

KY laws on justifiable force and deadly force KRS 503.050,503.070,503.080
