As for the "amount of gear", I'd go with whatever you can pack in a military duffel and a backpack. Space is at a premium, and your trainer will have more gear than you already. Backpack is daily-have it packed with your toiletries, Tylenol, earplugs, towel, and a change of clothes. Everything else stays in the duffle. Don't buy anything till the trainer tells you to, it's better to wait till you're solo to start buying gear. Want to piss someone off? Move into a 6x6x8 cube with them for 4 weeks, and bring a lot of unnecessary luggage.
gentleroger, Grijon and Lepton1 Thank this. -
I dont know how trainers do it or even team guys

I've ran team before, and we all used the duffle bag backpack combo. But we ran 4days out 4 home, the company had a fridge installed in every truck, and the teams changed up every month or two. Wasn't bad, you were never sitting anywhere except to stop for showers.

I never teamed but 6 weeks out of school with two trainers. Both guys were be in my opinion very good. But they are human and get tired. Freaks me out. Especially if they hit a rumble strip. scares the #### out of me
