I gotta say, Roadrunner did nothing wrong here to be listed as a Bad Company. They are very adamant about keeping the Carrier/Independent Contractor relationship very separate.
I noticed you wrote that your coordinator couldn't get a repower- but then you said you were instructed to drop at Nashville yard. Who told you to drop the load? Also be aware that they are going to have to repower the load from there and the entire cost of that goes back on you-- probably why your last two settlements show negative. Not sure what the $8000 would be for unless they want to charge you for all brand new tires and brakes and skirts and all dings dents and scratches on on the trailer.
What I would do is run the load out to Raleigh to finish it, but be in contact with your shop which said they would make it right-- tell them they are paying fuel from NC to AZ and all hotels along the way and also while you are there getting A/C fixed. Roadrunner has no responsibility to do that for you- and the shop may or may not do it either.
Final thought, this is a good lesson for anybody thinking of leasing a truck from any company, always bring your own ride into the deal because they can simply terminate your contract at any moment for any reason. Imagine if it was a lease truck, boom move your stuff out the tow truck is coming and you will be backcharged for the tow back to base too. -
Scottie, I agree with most all statements here, and yes if one can, bring your own truck. But that being said, I think he should have his lease terminated, he left a load sitting that he had agreed to deliver because his air did not work. Trucking can be a hard job sometimes, but if we agree to haul loads its our responsibility to get it there. I think him not getting any money had to do with partly the rental truck of 5000.00, and dumping a load on them. To me one of the very most obvious things in beginning is he blames Roadrunner for not being able to leave his car at Terminal. That is a question that should have been asked before going out there. That is one of the biggest problems we have on this site, which I love and get lots of great info, but you see so many people, a lot who are new at trucking, get on here and post bad stuff about companies that is nothing but normal trucking. They go jump on with a company thinking they are going to get rich, yet they have not asked any questions and know nothing about the company. One guy on here ranted over and over about a company all because they only gave a 100.00 advance per week. Anyway, I am considering Roadrunner, I have plenty of experience and have done a 18 mos lease purchase before and made very good money and paid the truck off, but had to sell the truck because I had health issues at the time and ended up having to sell the truck. Roadrunner had an ad , where you go through Quality for a truck, and book your own loads through Roadrunner. I would appreciate any info you can give on them, thanks.

I know one OSHA rule when I was cleaning out asbestos deep in the under bellies of ships; Is that when the
temperature reaches above 110 degrees, workers have to take a break every half an hour. Maybe that`s what
he should have done, pulled over every half an hour and took a 15 minute break....
