That's how it used to be . Now derate will limit the torque first. Not speed until it's serious.

I wonder why Mercer recruiters are saying the best trailer to have with them are step decks, just curios didn't know if they had something going on that know one else knows yet?

Recruiters or recruiter? You can ask everybody on here and they'll tell you flat. I was gonna get a step before coming here and glad I didn't. Just from working the board on a week to week basis you can't be the consistency and volume that flat have over here. Like I said before if your gonna get your own trailer get a nice light weight all aluminum. If worse come to worse get a conestoga but be prepared for a reality check with learning the system and the lanes over. Like I said lease a flat from mercer for 3-6 months then buy your own. But honestly to actually learn the system over here give a year for the avg person

I here you TaylorMade, sounds like a plan, I talked to Dawn and Chris, and they both said to get a step, but I know what y'all said to here in the real world ! Just couldn't figure out their reason for saying that because Mercer is a FLatbed company after all, I looked on that load board of Mercer online, I know it's not all the loads, but does, FD mean flat or step? Or what?

See https://mercertown.com/contractor-web-trailer-codes/ for the trailer type codes.

    FD is flat or step.

So, why would you group together in a parking lot with several Mercer trucks and be anti-social?

Hubby isn't anti-social, per se. He just doesn't do well in situations with folks he doesn't know. He tends to sit back and listen. And he isn't really one to initiate conversation. And getting to ask for help is like pulling teeth.
