All that stuff is basic and easy. Concentrate on your city driving, maneuvering and those tricky situations. Its the things people dont think about when getting into trucking. Like not missing exits or roads and thats when #### can hit the fan

Absolutely. No need to worry about that stuff. Your trainer will show you all of that and if he doesn't, just ask. I was lucky to have a good trainer what seems like a lifetime ago.
all that stuff will be second nature very quickly.
Rocknroller4 Thanks this. -

Is there anyway we could ask what company you're working for -- that has you "dedicating" from TX to ND?Last edited: May 5, 2016

Andrews Logistics pulling tanks. No back haul, deliver and head home. They have had the account for several years and hopefully will have it for a few more. This WILL be my last job that requires a sleeper. Three nights a week in the truck is doable. A fourth night is not happening, ever for me.MANXimus Thanks this.

Shame they don't hire rookies. Just read they have some regional openings in California.

Just get a few years experience and give them a call. Each terminal does different things. Houston hauls lubricants out of Shell in Galena Park. Los Angeles hauls lubricants out of Torrance I think. They also have about 60 daycabs out of Canton Ohio dedicated to hauling Sams Club freight out of a DC. Several more terminals but I'm not sure about the specifics of them.

You really won't learn how to live on the road until you get by yourself in your own truck. It'll all come in time. Just think everything through before acting. Biggest thing is getting into a healthy routine.Lepton1 and Rocknroller4 Thank this.
