It that So?
Well then...
I guess we know who wears the pants at that terminal
That's kindve a cheesy thing to do for the Jones family
... Sounds like something is tight alright -
Ugh, this site can be so infuriating. I have seen so many positive reviews of Abilene, then I see this. It's so confusing.
Rocknroller4 Thanks this. -
I hear ya. It can be. I've heard a lot of good about Abilene as a starter company. I just decided I'd rather remain in the West. It really comes down to if you want to do the trucking lifestyle or not. After CDL training I came to this site and started reading too much into it part of what delayed me starting.Last edited: May 20, 2016

It's good to read as much info as you can about a company. BUT, you have to be (or bone up fast) really good at deciphering the b.s. from the relevant. And, you'll have to wade through a LOT of bs to get to anything meaningful.

I'm sure there are unhappy drivers at UPS and Old Dominion. It's the number of bad reviews that determine if a company is good to work for or not. This is the only negative thread I've seen about Abilene.MidWest_MacDaddy, snowlauncher and CrazyPATrucker Thank this.

There are malcontents everywhere that you'll never please.
Generally if the good outweighs the bad, it's safe to assume "good".MidWest_MacDaddy, snowlauncher, 48Packard and 1 other person Thank this. -
Especially considering that it's basic human psychology to be more likely to tell people when you're upset about something than you are when you are happy about it. The ratio of good Abilene threads versus bad - to me, anyways - signifies that they are keeping people pretty happy.snowlauncher, CrazyPATrucker and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this.

Looks like this thread started 10 years ago and then pops up once in awhile... I didn't read the whole thing...
Now compare it to other threads that are very active over the same period.
Been at Abilene now going on 10 months and don't have many complaints... Which, if you knew me well, means something... LOL
Stay Safe,

I inquired with them, but never heard anything back. I have zero accidents, have zero issues whatsoever. The only thing I can think of is I live in Florida. That said, a simple courtesy call, or email, stating they're not interested and why would've been nice. Just as well as I decided I'm staying with a Florida company.
