Landstar says truck and flatbed=73%=$2.25-2.30 a mile average loaded

Well - yes. When I'm looking for loads, - on the board, $2.40 is my minimum. - But - you have to factor in deadhead and LS % to get you to your running average - ALL miles, for me that's been about $1.70.

Many are doing WAY better than that - even now.

I got some great freight from the LS broker in the dead of winter out of Phoenix, when I was leased to another company.

 

I don't know an exact average for this year but I live in charlotte and usually stay within 4-500 miles of charlotte…without going to OH/IN(I mean Ill go a few times but, i don't look for loads that way)
I don't run west of Nashville/north of NJ. I would say I average about 1800 to 2600…….. home weekends….

 

Yea, its all inclusive and they break it out at %100

Also that %73 is with your own flatbed also….not if you pull a company trailer….

 

As far as upfront costs I don't think there are any that they don't payroll deduct…….
