No we are not licensed to go into Canada. So get your atlas out, and route across the US.

I've had a few recently that told me they didn't need it...i guess it depends on facility personnel
-
It does depend on each facility. Some guards are crazy and will reject you, others say no problem and look up the PO number. I do think they're more leniant with drop/hook and Schneider than they are with live unload appointments though.Last edited: May 30, 2016

Got a pre-loaded frozen cookie load from Ogden that finals in Schenectady Wednesday. It's one of our old trailers (#936) that they are in the process of retiring out of the fleet. This thing runs more then ice cream loads in summer, and it runs wide open for the last 2/3 of the run cycle. It's cooling down to -10 okay but will be glad to get shed of this trailer.
Hopefully the chute is Ok and it's just this smaller rated XP-2500 unit and maybe it doesn't have the other ice-cream specs to aid in insulation. I'll message them Tuesday morning before they preplan and see if they want to work it to get this thing empty into Fargo area if's due to come out of service. The skirt is beat all to hell, too -
I had to yank around an ancient trailer for the last couple of weeks as well. It was one of gpt's old ones that had been previously laid over, and they had slapped on new suspension components as well as a newer reefer unit and put back into service due to being short on trailers. I usually hate really old trailers for the fact that they almost always have something wrong with them. Wound up getting rid of it for a load getting back by the house due to NYS DMV rejecting my new DOT physical, the doctor filled out the wrong certificate instead of the new spiffy certificate the DOT now requires. Unfortunately I have to wait out the holiday at the house before I can visit the doc's office and get it all straightened out (doom on you, FMCSA!!!). Not that I don't mind an extra day, but it puts a damper on my already not-so-spiffy miles. pretty much had me wishing I could find the idiots at FMCSA who keep coming up with this medical certification red tape crap and put them all in ICU with ####### ruptures.
drvrtech77 Thanks this. -

Starting to get hot in Phoenix. Supposed to be 100 tomorrow and 113 by Friday. Glad I'm getting out of here after delivery tomorrow. Did a broker load from Salem, OR to Buffalo. And this is a broker load I picked up out there and brought to Phoenix. Both were loaded quickly, long miles, good delivery times. Had extra time on this one but spent a night at the home on the way through .
I don't know all the politics involved with the GPT split and don't want to know. But it seems it would be better to make it one company so to have more trailers available at drop sites for re loading and meeting customers needs. But I understand the brothers have kind of a different philosophical approach to doing business. But I don't want to know and don't want it all posted here. But just saying I think it would be great to make it one company again. -
Better to have 1 solid company then 2 struggling ones
Is that somewhat normal to do back to back broker loads? Don't you guys have Ur own freight?
