Anyone know the formula that a company uses to convert a city drivers hours to actual miles? I had approx. 14,000 hours of drive time but I need approx. miles.
    Thanks John

Do an average of 50 mph.
    14,000 divided by 50

You'd be lucky to average 30 mph as a city driver.

That's true, but everywhere I worked we were told to use 50 mph as an average.
Running the city even 20 mph would be a stretch.

It could be for a job application asking for approximate miles driven.

Never heard of converting hours to miles, must be some newbreed thing, local was by years etc. OTR is miles driven, if you have to use miles then keep track of them or do a estimate.

Thanks for remarks. Safety manager from large LTL carrier stated they use 1 hour of city driving time equals 50 miles. So 10,000 hours in P&D would be 500,000 miles. Like it or not, that's the way they figure
