Sitting in Alexandria, MN. i'll drop this load off at the Fargo yard in the AM, then pick up something Monday for a run out to WA. It will be a comparatively short-miles week (Roughly 2200-2300 miles) but it's the only way I'm getting home on time (actually a day early). No complaints. it's 6500 miles in 2 weeks. I get excited over anything better than 2500 a week. At least this paycheck is going to kick arse. With 2 days sick, 3 days sitting due to BEING sick and a couple days off plus short miles anyway, last paycheck was less than $800 net. Fortunately the 2 before that were outstanding. Worst pay-period since I started driving, by FAR, but everything kind of conspired to kill me for that pay period. Stuff happens.

Can't wait to get home. I'll get home Friday and be off until Tuesday.

It's a solid 3-4 days out to WA/OR from CR. Any ideas on how to schedule hometime so I maximize my miles? 10 days apart, I screw myself, because it takes 3-4 days to deliver from WA to where we run to, then 3-4 days back, with basically a Joey special for 300 miles and three stops filling in, which leaves me at something like 3500 miles for two weeks.

I was thinking maybe every 17 days? Mind you, I'm happy to stay out for 6 weeks at a shot if I'm getting the miles, but it seems like I get better miles going home more often. (Guaranteed 3200-3500 miles there and back)

Actually you can talk with Nick, he's good with looking at stuff like that. For me staying out 4 weeks is the min if I want to run decent miles, staying out longer is actually harder making sure you keep getting good runs to build the miles, but 3 weeks appears to result in to many short loads being assigned as they try and keep me close so they can meet the hometime date.

I imagine you'll be similar, but as we increase customers out there you may be able to get by your home on loads that have layover time built in, sometimes I substitute that for actual hometime.

Stopped in Coon Rapids to do a drop and hook, and a load of laundry. Went in to use the bathroom. Both toilets were plugged. I expect this from time to time at the pilots and flying J, not at our own trucker lounge. Pisses me off on how lazy and disgusting some people are. Toilet plunger was right beside the toilet. And it worked fine when I plunged both. We are adults here. Some are not

These Shelby IA loads are pretty good. Pick up a preloaded trailer tell the DC what time you will deliver. Told them 1230 today got there at 1200 unloaded at at 1300. Then went to Blue Beacon for a washout in Minot. Sit 2.5 hours for a washout. There was 1 truck in the bay. That has to be worst ever they are so slow.
Waiting for DSP to come in tomorrow and see what's up.

And such a easy driveway to find. Did a wash out there. Took about 1 1/2 hour wait for 2 trucks.

I've sat for 2 hrs at that Blue Beacon in Minot too...

And I've plunged a toilet in CR after some #######.... I used to paint houses... 1/4 of houses are clean... 1/4 are so dirty it's unimaginable people live there and 1/2 of them are just slobs... And the price of the dwelling has nothing to do with the cleanliness..... I've been in $600,000 houses I wouldn't ever even eat in...
    So it ain't just truckers....

And they charge more than the standard Beacon, at least they did before the oil market dropped. Sign on the desk said they have to pay more to keep people working there, so they pass that cost on to the customers.
